Lauren Monroe has spent years immersed in the world of outdoor hospitality, working alongside her family to grow and shape USA RV Resorts. But for her, this business isn’t just about managing parks—it’s about creating spaces where people feel like they belong.
“Camping for us has always been about more than just a place to stay. It’s really about connection,” Lauren shared. “Some of our best memories come from time spent outdoors with family and friends, where life slows down, and you can just really be present.”
And Lauren wouldn’t have it any other way.
USA RV Resorts has been in the outdoor hospitality industry since 2004, growing right alongside the RV lifestyle. They now operate multiple parks in and around Houston, with locations designed to meet the needs of both short-term travelers and long-term residents.
Throughout the years, Lauren has watched the parks change while still staying true to her family’s values.
“The things that I have been exposed to in the last 10 years, most people don't get the opportunity to experience those in 30,” Lauren said. “I am just so honored to be able to work alongside my father every day. He's an incredibly kind human that really puts people at the center of everything that he does.”
Working with family means drawing from the past while keeping an eye on the future, something Lauren sees as a strength.
“To have that shared experience of blending the tried and true with the new—I think it really works,” Lauren said, “and it’s reflected in our business.”
That same balance of tradition and progress extends to their team. Like their guests, some employees are new to the camping industry, while others have been part of USA RV Resorts for 10, 15, even 24 years.
“We consider them all an extension of our family,” Lauren said.
Most USA RV Resorts locations sit about 45 minutes outside of Houston, giving guests the best of both worlds—close enough to enjoy city life, but far enough away to relax.
“We like to call it a little pocket Bay Area,” Lauren said. “Some of our locations are near lakes, some are near water, but all of them have that small-town feel while still being close to all Houston has to offer.”
The location makes USA RV Resorts a top pick for a wide range of guests. There are snowbirds escaping northern winters, professionals working short-term jobs, and families looking for a quick getaway. No matter where someone is from or what their story is, Lauren and her team want their guests to feel like they are a part of something special when they arrive.
“It’s definitely more than just a parking spot,” Lauren shared. “It’s a place where neighbors become friends, there’s always a friendly wave, and people have a real sense of home no matter how long they stay.”
One of Lauren’s habits is taking a drive through the parks, making sure every detail is right. But she’s not just checking for maintenance—she’s asking herself something more personal.
“I always ask myself, ‘Would I want to live here?’ “ she confessed. “We put our name behind these parks. It’s something we’re really proud of.”
That question drives the way they design and run their parks. The staff at USA RV Resorts create places where people can enjoy the freedom of RV life without sacrificing comfort and community.
“Our amenities are what sets us apart,” Lauren admitted. “We’re like little neighborhoods. We’ve got everything you’d want in traditional living but still, the flexibility to be on the road.”
And for guests who don’t have an RV, some USA locations offer cabins and tiny houses as another option.
“We love welcoming people who may not have an RV but still want that community experience,” Lauren said. “No RV needed.”
USA RV Resorts is no stranger to handling an influx of guests. Houston is home to major events year-round—rodeos, festivals, sporting events—which always bring a surge of visitors to the area. Now, with the FIFA Club World Cup coming in summer 2025 and the FIFA World Cup coming in 2026, another wave of travelers will be on their way.
But for Lauren and her team, it’s just another chance to do what they do best.
“We welcome them with open arms every time,” Lauren said. “We have tons of gatherings that introduce people to this beautiful part of the world. And when that happens, our focus is always on balance—making sure our regular guests still feel at home while embracing the excitement of something new.”
Their approach to big events is simple: support the team and take care of the guests.
“It’s a time for team collaboration and a time where communication can shine,” Lauren shared. “And be ready to offer hands-on support, because, as much as the guest is the center of your business, so is your team. Big events, unexpected challenges, it all comes down to making sure your team is supported and your focus stays on hospitality and service.”
As USA RV Resorts continues to grow, Lauren and her team rely on tools that help them stay focused on what matters most: their guests.
“One of my first big projects was streamlining our software,” Lauren explained. “The online reservations have been incredible for us, and we love Sign+Store. It’s just so useful for keeping everything organized.”
With so many returning guests, having a way to track their history makes a difference, too.
“Being able to pull up our repeat customers, see their profile, and see their history with us is such a great tool,” Lauren shared.
With a dedicated team, a strong community, and the right support behind them, USA RV Resorts continues to be a place where guests feel at home, whether they’re staying for a weekend, a season, or a lifetime.
